Lee Tzu hsun

Born in Taipei, Taiwan in 1973, Tzu-hsun Lee graduated with a master degree in 2003 from the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf in Germany where he lived and worked from 1995 to 2009. In 1999, he won the Travel Scholarship of the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf to study in New York. He is the recipient of the Audience Award at the 54th International Bergische Kunstausstellung-Museum Baden in 2001and the Friedrich-Vordemberge Scholarship from the City of Cologne in 2006. He also won the 1st “”Bosch Rexroth AG Art Award”” in Germany in 2007. Lee is regarded as one of the most representative contemporary artists in Taiwan. He now lives and works in Beijing, China.
 
He has participated in a number of major national and international exhibitions. His solo shows are presented at the Taipei Fine Arts Museum, Pace Gallery Beijing, Eslite Gallery in Taipei and at Art Cologne in Germany. Many of his works are also shown in the group exhibitions in the following major museums:  Kunstpalast in Düsseldorf and the Museum Baden in Germany;  the Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art, Cornell University, New York; Seongsan Art Hall in Korea;  Maison des Arts de Créteil, Paris;  Manège Maubeug in France; the Contemporary Art Center of park Saint Léger in Poegues-Les-Eaux, France; Haus for compensatory art, Begijnhof Hasselt Belgium; Museum of Contemporary Art Shanghai; National Art Museum of China; Today Art Museum in Beijin; Taipei Biennial/Taipei Fine Arts Museum; The Museum of Contemporary Art, Taipei; National Museum of History, Taipei; National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, Taichung; Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts, etc. His works have been collected by major art galleries, foundations, art institutions and collectors at home and abroad.
